![]() Web browser I use Arctic fox from Īnd about Chrisalis - it is very nice collection, I cannot see any bug, but me personally install only parts of it, not whole Chrysalis pack. In this case you can use second card (HD6670 is one of the best 1slot with accel) and make custom nf. If you have original X1900 G5 edition, it doesn't work with linux (no accel). Is Your graphics card X1950 PC flashed? If yes, it can work for all OSes. I remember that the latest debian Sid install image not works, you have to use older - I look at home which version works with grub nearly out of the box (the only thing which you have to do manually is to bless grub - after this it is visible on early startup. The second is edit grub config (or yaboot config if you use it) The simplest way of triple boot selection is powermac graphical early startup(alt). If you brave enough, you can prepare all partitions with OSX diskutil only. After installation of OSX use only one disktool (or gparted or hdconfig ) mixing of these tools can result in incorrect partition sizes. I started installation with MacOSX and other systems later. You can use at least these recent linuxes: DebianSid, fienix (), MintPPC () I have MorphOS, MacOSX and Debian Sid here. Thanks Doffo for making this trade happen, even though we had obstacles in meeting each other.Įdit: Is the Chrysalis Pack available for MorphOS3.13, and is it (mostly) bug free, or should I search and download only the software and games that I will actually use? I wonder if they have to send me a new key, or if I can edit it myself? I'll try searching the forum threads here, and the official MorphOS website, for how to change the name on the MorphOS license key. ![]() ![]() ![]() Can anyone give me advice on the best way to do that, and recommend the best Linux distro that you prefer? Also, what is the best web browser to run while using Linux on this machine? I hope I can find my Final Cut Pro installation CD/DVD's. It only has the base MorphOS3.13 installation, so I'll need to install the software I want, but I think I will also try to set up a triple boot, with MacOSX 10.5.8, and one of the PPC Linux distros. To test it as soon as I got home, I set it up using my 42 inch TV and was happy to see it boot up almost silently to a 24bit 1920 x 1080 Ambient screen. But anyone with less than moderate Linux ability will be totally. Because you have to compile virtually everything yourself in Gentoo its a better OS overall for older or less supported hardware. Yesterday I met with the brother of Doffo and exchanged some of my Classic Amiga gear for his Quad G5 PowerMac with Radeon x1950 video card and MorphOS license. I would say the best Linux option for PowerPC in 2019 is Gentoo. ![]()
